The Upland Library is the first library in Grant County to go green, Evergreen that is! The Van Buren Library has joined Evergreen as well. Evergreen Indiana is a growing consortium of over 100 public, school and institutional libraries located throughout the state of Indiana. Patrons of member libraries can use their Evergreen Indiana library card to view the catalogs and borrow materials from the other member libraries. The following link leads to a list of all of the Indiana Evergreen Libraries: http://www.in.gov/library/3399.htm
This circulation and cataloging system will give our patrons a higher level of service by allowing patrons to access catalogs from any Evergreen Indiana library online. Patrons can set up online accounts where they can view what items they have checked out, renew those items, and even place books on hold. With this new system automated e-mails and phone calls are also placed if a patron has any overdue items or if they have any items on hold that are available.
Since the changeover, our library is now charging overdue fines of 25 cents per day, per item.
The library is located at 29 W. Washington Street in Upland, IN.
